One of my new jobs currently on-site is a house of a good friend of mine in the Adelaide Hills.

My cousin, Greg Bond from Atelier Bond Architects worked on the Architecture of the property and  I am working on some of the interiors. I am really looking forward to seeing this extremely large kitchen come together….. we just don’t get space like this in Sydney!!! There is over 6 metres of island bench space for starters!

This new kitchen sits in the existing part of the house and the existing ceiling had been removed to unveil a huge void above where an oversized custom pendant will hang over the expanse of the island bench.  The existing pitched roof of the old house will be lined in V-joint timbers painted white and this will be a crisp contrast to the exposed, white washed brick wall  from the original facade.

The concrete floor in the kitchen will be polished and to bring some warmth into the space, the entire kitchen will be made from plywood, timber and veneers. We are still working on some of the details of the kitchen tapware and hardware options but I  love the idea of getting a custom copper tap made up and match it up to a copper sink.
